BMW ALPINA D3 S

The BMW ALPINA D3 S

INTELLIGENT. INTENSE. INTRIGUING.

Thanks to its unique blend of dynamics, everyday practicality and mile-crunching potency, the BMW ALPINA D3 S enjoys great popularity amongst the ALPINA manufactory product portfolio. It combines the best of two worlds: a drivetrain that offers excellent throttle response at low rpm’s yet which is sporty and high-revving, unlike most typical modern diesels. Thanks to outstanding efficiency, long ranges can be achieved effortlessly. With revised chassis technology, the BMW ALPINA D3 S now offers even more precision in handling.

Saloon

The BMW ALPINA D3 S Saloon underscores its athletic, yet elegant appearance with impressive performance figures. Accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h takes just 4.6 seconds, while the 200 km/h mark is passed in 17.5 seconds on to a top speed of 273 km/h (170 mph).

Touring

In terms of everyday practicality, the Touring convinces with a functional stowage space volume of 500 to 1,510 litres. With a top speed of 270 km/h (168 mph), the BMW ALPINA D3 S Touring is one of the fastest of its kind. Accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h takes just 4.8 seconds and 200 km/h is reached in 18.3 seconds.

Form follows function

The ALPINA design and aerodynamic elements accentuate the BMW 3 Series’ clean and precise design language, combining a more dynamic appearance with functionality. Following the ALPINA philosophy of “form follows function”, the front has optimised air intakes for increased cooling performance while both front and rear aerodynamics reduce uplift to a minimum for maximum high speed stability.

Performance. Torque. Efficiency.

The BMW ALPINA D3 S drivetrain impresses with an eagerness to rev despite offering remarkable amounts of low-end torque. Mild hybrid technology with a 48-volt starter generator improves throttle response and efficiency, effortlessly offering long driving ranges in combination with a high performance output. The straight-six 3.0 litre engine with bi-turbo charging offers a maximum output of 261 kW (355 hp). The maximum torque of 730 Nm (538 lb-ft) is available between 1750 and 2750 rpm for immediate power delivery in every driving situation.

Precision, agility, dynamics

The superior driving experience of the BMW ALPINA D3 S is largely influenced by the ALPINA Sport Suspension. Utilising the variable damper control, the ALPINA chassis engineers have created a wide range of set-ups offering excellent ride comfort and precise, dynamic handling. The BMW ALPINA D3 S profits from a BMW 3 Series update which sees a stiffer connection between the rear dampers and the bodyshell which improves driving dynamics. Special attention was paid to maintaining excellent ride comfort, which is why the ALPINA engineers opted for a new shock absorber configuration.

Information on fuel consumption and CO2 emissions according to the applicable 1999/94/EG:

BMW ALPINA D3 S

Fuel consumption, combined l/100 km:  6.9
CO2 emissions combined g/km: 182
CO2 efficiency category: E
